Before you pick

  • If you need one verification code and then you are done, take SMS Activation — it is the cheapest per code. If the number has to keep receiving messages for a while, take SMS Rental. When in doubt, pick the shorter one; it costs less and you can always buy another.

  • The app if the number is for you personally. The API or MCP server if software or an agent needs to get the number on its own, without a person tapping anything.

  • Not to look around. Every discovery endpoint — services, countries, intervals, prices — is public and unauthenticated. You need credentials only when you buy, and even then x402 lets you pay from a wallet without registering.

  • No. They are two doors into one account and one balance, at the same per-number price. A number bought over MCP can be read over REST and the other way round.
